چکیده
Melatonin has been implicated in the regulation of ripening several types climacteric fruits, but its role apple is poorly understood. In this study, effectiveness melatonin influencing postharvest apples and interacting with ethylene biosynthesis process was investigated. Apples four local cultivars (Golden, Reineta, Blanquina Rabiosa) were harvest at an immature green stage immersed for 120 min a solution water (control), 50 µM, ACC 1 mM, µM + mM. The evolution quality parameters production assessed all 35 days after treatment. addition, Golden used to examine transcript abundance enzymes genes skin flesh. Exogenous improved during stimulated studied, advancing timing burst. Melatonin-induced changes correlated well fruit part similar those induced by precursor ACC, so appears be target melatonin. apple, expression MdACS1 MdACO1 genes, which showed profile that ethylene. transcriptional effects exogenous on ethylene-related also more notable than flesh, suggesting initiating former phytohormone. Taken together, results point fact may useful improving promoting colour flavour change extending firmness. effect mediated up-regulation activity peak, thus contributing increase availability.

Evidence that a-farnesene biosynthesis during fruit ripening is mediated by ethylene regulated gene expression in apples
The effect of ethylene regulation on a-farnesene biosynthesis in preclimateric ‘Delicious’ and ‘Granny Smith’ apples was studied using an ethylene inducer and inhibitor, a-farnesene biosynthesis precursors, and protein transcription and translation inhibitors. a-Farnesene was not detectable when internal ethylene concentrations were less than 1 ml l. Correlations between internal ethylene and a...
متن کاملHydrogen sulfide alleviates postharvest ripening and senescence of banana by antagonizing the effect of ethylene
Accumulating evidence shows that hydrogen sulfide (H2S) acts as a multifunctional signaling molecule in plants, whereas the interaction between H2S and ethylene is still unclear. In the present study we investigated the role of H2S in ethylene-promoted banana ripening and senescence by the application of ethylene released from 1.0 g·L-1 ethephon solution or H2S with 1 mM sodium hydrosulfide (Na...

متن کاملPostharvest Quality and Handling of ‘honeycrisp’ Apples
The juicy texture of ‘Honeycrisp’ has exploded in the Northeast apple market. Grower interest and consumer demand has made this cultivar more readily accepted than most and it continues to increase in popularity. ‘Honeycrisp’ is a bi-color apple and the flesh is cream colored with a juicy crisp texture. It has outstanding flavor characteristics and can remain crisp for several months during sto...
متن کاملAn Antisense Gene Stimulates Ethylene Hormone Production during Tomato Fruit Ripening.
The ripening of many fruits is controlled by an increase in ethylene hormone concentration. E8 is a fruit ripening protein that is related to the enzyme that catalyzes the last step in the ethylene biosynthesis pathway, 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic (ACC) oxidase. To determine the function of E8, we have transformed tomato plants with an E8 antisense gene. We show here that the antisense gen...
